The participants will be able to:
- Appreciate the importance of a detailed runner’s history and knowledge of various running considerations.
- Recognize the differences between the 3 different foot strike patterns and the effect of foot strike patterns on running mechanics and running-related injuries (RRIs).
- Appreciate the difference between treating novice vs. experienced runners.
- Recognize the importance of a running specific evaluation and understand the parameters to assess for each patient.
- Design an appropriate treatment program for a patient who has an RRI.

- Four (4) hours of lecture, including time for Q&A.
- Course will be taught as a live webinar via Zoom.

About the Instructor Megan Advani, PT, DPT, MPT, CMP
Megan earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from East Carolina University in 1999 and her post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, SHRP in 2006. Megan has worked as a clinician in outpatient orthopedics for the past 23 years. She has been an Outpatient Rehab Manager for the past 7 years. Megan previously worked as an adjunct faculty lab instructor at UMDNJ-Newark for the Musculoskeletal PT classes. Megan has extensive experience in treating runners, dancers, and patients with foot/ankle injuries. She started a runner’s rehab program in 2018, which includes the evaluation and treatment of patients with running-related injuries as well as gait/running video analysis.
